For Dragon Age: Inquisition on the PC, a GameFAQs message board topic titled 'controller or keyboard?' Dragon Age Inquisition Steam ControllerAll game info provided. Hi, I used to play DAI with Steam Controller say 6 or so months ago, now thought Id get back into it and actually finish the game, but I cant make the game recognize the controller at all. Ive tried all the gimmicks with running steam as admin and launching directly/through origin, in and out of BP mode, Overlay disabled, origin running in comp mode for win xp to get the old version of origin but nothing is working for me, nothing. Its incredibly frustrating to the point where I want to punch both EA for not releasing it on steam and Valve for making a controller thats not outputting as a gamepad but rather 'keyboard and mouse' which makes it a pain to use outside of steam. If anyone knows of any trick I will be grateful, I really want to play DAI now but am stuck and this. Originally posted by:Its a pain in the♥♥♥♥♥but I followed this guide: Also I read some where that 'AMD External Events Utility' can upset things: So if you have a AMD card (I have a RX 470) you well need to set the 'AMD External Events Utility' in services to manual mode. The combo of these two things makes DA:Inquisition a pleasure to play with the Steam Controller as Dragon age aint KB and mouse friendly Thank you for the input, Ill look into it tomorrow. Will let you know if it made any difference. I’ve never really been a fan of spending more money than I need to just so I can purchase some kind of “premium” or “deluxe” version of a game just so I can get my hands on some flashy content that I probably won’t ever use or need but Dragon Age: Inquisition by developer BioWare is currently offering digital deluxe edition that is certainly making me consider changing my mind on that because of all the goodies that it has to offer. The game is set for release on 7 th October 2014 (for PC, Xbox One and the PS4) which I suppose is a long wait time for some eager fans but in that time you can choose to pre-order the game for 59.99$ or the digital deluxe edition for 69.99$ and I must say that you are certainly getting a whole lot of value for your extra 10 dollars in the deluxe edition. According to the Origin website (for just $10 extra you’ll be getting access to: • Skyhold Throne – Every ruler should sit in a place of high honor, but as the Inquisitor you will have the greatest of all, fashioned from an ancient dragon skull. • Red Hart Halla – Traverse the perilous, living world atop this great-horned beast. • Bog Unicorn – Once belonging to an evil marauder, this unique mount has returned to inspire fear into those who would oppose you. • Bring the world of Thedas wherever you go with the Dragon Age: Inquisition digital soundtrack • Bonus digital content – to be announced The Digital Deluxe Edition also includes the mighty Flames of the Inquisition gear! • Multi-class Weapons: Smite your enemies with the Flames of the Inquisition weapons arsenal, whether they are staff or daggers, greatsword or war hammer, these weapons will make short work of your foes. • Inquisitor Armor: Protect yourself against the onslaught of enemy attacks by suiting up in the Flames of the Inquisition Armor. • Armored Mount: Flames of the Inquisition gear also includes a valiant steed, complete with its own set of Inquisition Armor forged from the flames of battle. I didn't have any issue with Origins or 2 but this is killing the game for me. The camera movement on the mouse has no sensitivity options(only keyboard) You can't run holding both mouse buttons like other Bioware games No click to move or click to loot like previous DA games The cursor is tiny and blends in with everything making it easy to lose on battles. Tactical view is way too zoomed in and makes it harder to use and clunky. Having to hold down R to basic attack sucks Can't rebind mouse buttons No walking, you can only run I'm only 2 hours in and I'm getting really bummed out thinking of having to fight these terrible controls for 90 hours.why couldn't they leave it as it was in the other games? Yesterday I was kinda going back and forth between controller and keyboard / mouse trying to figure out which one felt better on pc. Eventually I decided on the controller mainly cause the game feels more streamlined for controller support. You could play this game like the previous 2 Dragon Age games with a keyboard / mouse but I feel like you'd be at a real disadvantage if you did. Couple things I noticed is some of the things Rorie mentioned on the podcast was no fiddling with any of the mouse buttons except for giving you the ability to switch the left and right mouse buttons. Zooming out the farthest way possible gives you the tactical view option, which sometimes I didn't mean to get into but did by accident just cause I wanted to zoom out for a better view of the battlefield. If you do get this on PC I recommend playing it with gamepad support.
